During the first half of 2017, Coralie Sanson continued her exploration of swimming pools thanks to a partnership with the city of Lancy (Geneva, Switzerland). More precisely in the Marignac sports complex which houses, among other things, an Olympic swimming pool, a leisure pool, a paddling pool and a receiving pool for diving boards of 3, 5 and 10 meters high. This very atypical construction comes from the plans of the architects Georges Brera, Paul Waltenspühl and Pierre Nierlé, and was carried out between 1967 and 1969. All of the buildings are designed in concrete, with an aesthetic characteristic which strongly recalls the Soviet architecture of the 1960s. This space has already hosted contemporary art exhibitions, particularly highlighted by the layout of the premises. The artist's partnership with the town of Lancy and the Marignac establishment gave her access to the premises four times in April and May 2017. The first session took place in all of the empty basins, and the second with the beginning of filling. The third session allowed her to explore the lower passageways, the engine rooms, the pipes. The fourth and final session was devoted to the exploration of the filled and fully covered pools, just before the opening of the spring summer 2017 season.
